Honda CB125 Hornet, the latest entrant in the 125cc segment, is locked in a fierce battle with TVS Raider 125 in the Indian market

Honda 2-Wheelers India recently introduced the CB125 Hornet in the domestic market. However, the price announcement is still awaited while the bookings are announced to commence from Aug 1, 2025 in the country. Honda CB125 Hornet deliveries could begin from mid-August 2025. It will directly rival TVS Raider 125 in the Indian market. In this piece, we will do a detailed comparison between the CB125 Hornet and Raider 125 with respect to their price, variants and engine specs.

TVS Raider is available in a total of six variants namely Drum, Single Seat, Split Seat, iGo, SSE and SX. It is priced in a range of Rs 87,010 – 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the domestic market. On the other hand, the CB125 Hornet price in not disclosed yet by Honda while variant details are also kept under wraps. Though we believe the Honda bike to be priced around Rs 90,000 – 1 lakh (ex-showroom).

Honda claims the CB125 Hornet to be the fastest motorcycle in its segment with a 0-60 kmph sprint time of just 5.4 secs. It comes equipped with a OBD-2B compliant 123.94cc single-cylinder petrol engine which develops max power of 11 bhp at 7500 rpm and peak torque of 11.2 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

As for the TVS Raider 125, it touches the 60 kmph mark from standstill in 5.8 secs which is a bit slower than its Honda counterpart. Powered by a 124.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled petrol engine, it has top power of 11.2 bhp at 7500 rpm and highest torque of 11.7 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine is linked to a 5-speed gearbox. Despite having more power and torque on paper, the Raider 125 lags behind the CB125 Hornet in terms of acceleration

The Raider 125 is well equipped too as it gets multiple best-in-class features such as Reverse LCD digital cluster, Ride modes, TVS SmartXonnect with TFT display, Voice Assist and Navigation. Since the Raider has been on sale for quite a few years, it misses out on latest tech but still offers decent amount of modern and advanced features.
