Hyundai sold a total of 52,407 units last month, which is its highest-ever domestic sales for the month of February since inception
Hyundai India has clocked overall sales of 66,134 units in February 2026 in the country. The South Korean automaker posted strong YoY growth of 12.6 percent as it registered its highest-ever sales for the month of February since its inception. The domestic sales stood at 52,407 units with YoY growth of 9.8 percent, while exports also grew by 24.8 percent on a YoY basis as 13,727 made-in-India units were shipped to various global markets. The company stated that it achieved the highest-ever tally of domestic sales for any February.
Commenting on the February 2026 sales results, Mr. Tarun Garg, MD & CEO – HMIL, said: “We kicked-off 2026 on a high note achieving our highest-ever monthly sales in January and the momentum continues in February. With a total sales (domestic plus exports) of 66,134 units, the highest for any February in our history, we posted a robust growth of 12.6% YoY. This includes domestic sales of 52,407 units, also the highest-ever February sales since inception.”
Hyundai finished the CY 2025 as India’s third largest auto brand as it lost out on the second position to Mahindra & Mahindra. The company had retailed a total of 5,53,343 units last year in the country. It barely managed to outnumber Tata Motors which occupied the fourth spot with sales of 5,50,271 units in CY 2025. The aforementioned sales data has been fetched from Vahan portal.

In Jan 2026, Hyundai slipped to fourth position with sales of 59,107 units behind Tata Motors and Mahindra which bagged the second and third positions, respectively, with sales of 70,222 units and 63,510 units. Hyundai Creta remained the brand’s top-selling model in the domestic market with average monthly sales exceeding 15k units and dominating the midsized SUV segment.
The brand had introduced the new-gen Venue last year in October as the sales of the pre-facelift model was going down with each month passing. In addition, it recently rolled out a highly affordable variant of the i20 in the form of Era at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The aggressive pricing was paired with an extensive feature list which included the likes of six airbags, fully digital instrument cluster, front and rear skid plates, body-colour ORVMs & door handles, and Type-C USB charger.

Hyundai is planning a full-fledged product onslaught for the Indian market, which will include both ICE models as well as EVs. The company will launch the Inster-based small EV with heavy localisation to rival the Tata Punch EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. In addition, the Bayon-based crossover is also expected to go on sale later this year to take on the Maruti Fronx. The facelifted versions of the Ioniq 5, Exter and Verna will also be introduced in 2026 in India.
