Kia Carens Clavis EV is available in two battery options with a claimed driving range of up to 490 km between charges
Kia India has opened bookings for its first made-in-India electric vehicle, a three-row EV dubbed the Carens Clavis. Positioned as a 7-seater MPV, the Carens Clavis EV enters the Indian market with two battery options and a claimed range of up to 490 km on a full charge. Customers can place their bookings starting today by paying Rs. 25,000 either via Kia’s official website or through dealerships across the country.
Offered in four variants – HTK Plus, HTX, HTX ER, and HTX Plus ER – the Kia Carens Clavis EV sits in a space that has not yet seen significant activity from mainstream manufacturers. Prices for the entry-level variant begin at Rs. 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric MPV builds on the brand’s “Opposites United” philosophy with several commonalities compared to its ICE sibling.
Two lithium-ion battery packs are part of the spec sheet. The 51.4 kWh version is rated by ARAI with a 490 km driving range under MIDC conditions. A smaller 42 kWh option is also available, with a corresponding ARAI-certified range of 404 km between charges. Both packs are compatible with 100 kW DC fast charging – enabling a 10 to 80 per cent charge in just 39 minutes.

Four regenerative braking levels are available and can be adjusted via steering mounted paddles. Kia has integrated a sizeable number of features into the Carens Clavis EV including a connected car suite with 90 functions.
These include smartphone connectivity, live navigation and remote vehicle management. The interior gains a dual screen panoramic display – 67.62 cm combined width – one for infotainment and the other being instrument console, ambient lighting with 64 colour choices, infotainment/temperature control swap switch, one-touch electric tumble second-row function, Boss Mode for the front passenger seat and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
