Kia has lifted the cloaks off the all-new EV2 at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show as it announces the global debut of its sixth dedicated electric model. Positioned as the brand’s smallest electric SUV yet, it has been engineered for everyday city use. Despite its compact B-SUV footprint, the model has been created to feel like a “full-size” model on the inside according to the brand.

It targets first-time EV buyers as well as customers looking for a practical yet premium electric vehicle. Styling follows Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy combining a confident SUV stance with modern finishes. An upright profile, pronounced wheel arches and strong shoulder lines give the EV2 a definitive road presence.

It also boasts vertical lighting elements and Kia’s latest Star Map lighting signature. At the rear, wide-set tail lamps and sculpted surfaces add character. The EV2 GT Line further amplifies this look with sportier bumpers, unique wheels and body-coloured accents. Inside, the EV2 introduces what Kia calls the “Picnic Box” concept.

A panoramic digital display combines a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 5-inch climate panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen while fabric-rich materials and horizontal design elements are said to enhance the airy feel. Ambient lighting, intuitive physical controls and clever storage solutions are also present. Powertrain options comprise 42.2 kWh and 61.0 kWh battery packs.

They provide a claimed driving range of up to 317 km and 448 km respectively on the WLTP cycle. Fast charging support allows a 10 to 80 per cent top-up in around 29–30 minutes depending on the battery version. Technologies such as EV Route Planner, Plug & Charge and bidirectional V2L functionality are other highlights of the EV2 which targets high volume sales globally.

A class-leading front trunk is a cherry on top. Alongside the EV2, Kia also showcased new performance-oriented GT models including the EV3 GT, EV4 Hatchback GT and EV5 GT at the show in Brussels. Production of the EV2 is set to begin in the first quarter of 2026 with launch details planned to be announced closer to sales commencement.
