Kia recorded a domestic tally of 20,625 in June 2025 as against 21,300 units during the same period last year with a YoY sales drop of 3 per cent
Kia India ended the month of June 2025 with 20,625 units dispatched – down from the 22,315 vehicles it moved in May. Compared to the same month last year, the numbers were also lower – June 2024 had stood at 21,300. The monthly decline worked out to 8 per cent while the year-on-year difference was a more modest 3 per cent drop.
The Kia Carens was the only model that moved upward in both year-on-year and month-on-month terms. The MPV registered 7,921 units in June 2025 – up from 5,154 units a year earlier and 4,524 units in May. The numbers translated to a sharp 54 per cent increase year-on-year and a 75 per cent improvement over May.
The arrival of the Carens Clavis has certainly helped in upping volumes. The Sonet, once Kia’s volume anchor, continued to slide. It closed June at 6,658 units – down from 9,816 a year ago and 8,054 in May 2025 – marking a 32 per cent fall year-on-year and 17 per cent below its May tally. The Seltos also ended June lower than the months compared.

It dropped to 5,225 units, having reported 6,306 in June 2024 and 6,082 in May 2025 – translating to a 17 per cent annual drop and a 14 per cent dip on a monthly basis. The Syros, a recent entrant, garnered 774 units in June. However, May 2025’s 3,611 units painted a different picture with the model plunging by 79 per cent within a month.
The fourth generation Kia Carnival remained consistent, delivering 47 units in June, a slight bump over May’s 44 units. The EV6 electric crossover, which had found 24 buyers in June 2024, registered no sales this time. The flagship EV9 seven-seater e-SUV based on the E-GMP platform also stayed idle last month.

Taken as a whole, Kia’s June numbers suggested a narrowed contribution from its wider portfolio. The Carens range will be further expanded with the arrival of the Clavis EV on July 15 and it will be equipped with the same battery options as the Creta Electric and it comes with a claimed driving range of up to 490 km between charges.
