Kia Seltos has achieved this massive volume milestone in just over six years since its market debut back in August 2019 in India
First launched in 2019, the Kia Seltos has now recorded cumulative domestic deliveries of more than six hundred thousand units presenting itself as one of the pivotal models for the brand’s growth locally and it also holds plenty of significance as an export model. From its debut, the SUV differentiated itself through a combination of sporty design, a wide choice of petrol and diesel engines, and automatic transmission availability across fuel types.
Sales patterns indicate that nearly one-third of customers opt for the highest specifications. Meanwhile, continued traction for lower and mid variants shows that the lineup remains relevant to both value-based shoppers and those seeking premium equipment. The midsize SUV also elevated segment expectations by introducing amenities typically associated with more expensive classes too.
Measuring around 4,460 mm long, 1,830 mm wide and riding on a 2,690 mm wheelbase, it offers generous cabin space along with a prominent visual stance. Updates to ride quality, interface systems, driver-assist functions and structural protection have further improved usability while retaining multiple powertrain and gearbox choices in its latest avatar.

The prices of the new generation Kia Seltos were announced early last month. Starting at Rs. 10.99 lakh, it goes all the way up to Rs. 19.99 lakh for the top-spec model (ex-showroom). The new Seltos is underpinned by the global K3 architecture and benefits from a more rigid overall body structure with improve driveability and handling.
The platform is also responsible for improved safety credentials. Across the portfolio, features such as six airbags, ABS, hill-start assist and electronic stability control are offered while top-end variants pack a suite of Level 2 ADAS technology with 21 autonomous functions. It is based on the Korean company’s latest Opposites United styling language.

Commenting on the new launch, Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “Crossing 6 lakh sales reflects sustained customer preference for a product that delivers strong fundamentals in design, safety, technology and performance. Seltos expanded expectations in the mid-SUV segment by offering features and configurations that were not widely available at the time of its launch.”
