KTM 160 Duke has gained a new full-colour 5-inch TFT instrument cluster equipped variant, priced Rs. 8,000 more than the standard model

KTM has strengthened the 160 Duke’s range in India with the introduction of a new variant that brings a full-colour 5-inch TFT instrument cluster to the streetfighter. Priced at Rs. 1,78,536 (ex-showroom Delhi), the new version sits above the standard KTM 160 Duke which continues on sale at Rs. 1,70,545 and uses a 5-inch LCD display.

The newly added TFT screen is the same unit seen on the latest KTM 390 Duke and features bonded glass for better clarity and durability. Alongside the display, KTM has introduced a revised switch cube with four-way menu controls – allowing riders to scroll through menus and access key functions directly from the handlebar.

The interface has been designed to be intuitive and ensure minimal distraction while riding according to the brand. When paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth using the KTM My Ride app, the TFT display supports turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call alerts and music control. Navigation prompts are shown on the screen as well – helping riders stay on route without relying on a phone mount.

Call functionality is limited to accepting or rejecting incoming calls, as outgoing calls and contact browsing are disabled while the bike is in motion for safety reasons. Music playback is also supported when the rider pairs a Bluetooth helmet headset with the system. Track changes and volume adjustments can be controlled through the left-side menu switch with song information displayed on the TFT.

The setup allows riders to manage audio functions without taking their hands off the handlebars. Another functional addition enabled through the TFT interface is Supermoto ABS mode. When activated, ABS intervention on the rear wheel is disengaged – allowing controlled slides in specific riding scenarios such as track use or supermoto-style riding.

The front ABS remains active to maintain braking stability. The display itself offers a high level of customisation as riders can adjust shift RPM and limit RPM settings – after which the screen dynamically switches between dark and KTM’s signature orange themes. Menu layouts, information displays and shortcuts can also be tailored.

Mechanically, the KTM 160 Duke remains unchanged as it derives power from a 164.2 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. It develops a maximum power output of 19 PS at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of peak torque delivered at 7,500 rpm and is paired with a six-speed transmission. It features a split trellis frame, WP Apex USD front forks with hollow axle, bionic light wheels, 320 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc supported by a dual-channel ABS system as standard.
