The Mahindra Scorpio N is due for a mid-life facelift update in the coming months; Thar 3-Door facelift is also on the cards for this year

Mahindra & Mahindra is one of the fastest-growing car manufacturers in India, sporting an array of popular nameplates in its portfolio, including the Thar and Scorpio. The company recently launched the XUV7XO and XUV3XO EV in the domestic market. Moving ahead, multiple new SUVs are in the pipeline, which are expected to go on sale in the year 2026-2027. In this article, we will look at the new Mahindra SUVs set to launch in 2026-2027.

1. Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift

The Scorpio N was launched back in 2022 and is now due for a mid-life facelift. The test mule of the updated SUV was recently spotted, revealing a bunch of fresh details, including the presence of a new front grille, revised alloy wheel design and overhauled interiors. The Scorpio N facelift will get a new 10.25-inch free-standing infotainment system, redesigned centre console, a fully digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof and more.

2. Mahindra Thar Facelift

The Thar 3-Door received a major update last year with some changes to the interiors and new features. However, the overall exterior design and interiors remained unchanged. Now, Mahindra is working on a proper facelift for the Thar, and based on the spy shots, it will get a new front grille from the Thar Roxx, along with refreshed tail lamps and bumpers.

We expect the SUV to come with a revised feature set, including ventilated seats, automatic HVAC, keyless entry with push button start, wireless charging and more. Besides these changes, the Thar facelift will pack the familiar 1.5-litre turbo diesel. 2.2-litre mHawk diesel and 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engines.

3. Mahindra Thar EV

The Vision T was previewed by Mahindra last year, and it will form the base for the all-electric version of the Thar. It will be based on the new NU_IQ platform, which is a flexible architecture capable of supporting multiple body types and powertrains. Expected to launch in India sometime next year, i.e. 2027, the electric Thar will feature a proper 5-door design, measuring around 4.3 metres long.

In terms of design, the typical Thar styling with a boxy and upright stance, albeit in a modern avatar, will likely be a part of the package. While the powertrain details are scarce at the moment, we expect the Thar EV to get a dual-motor AWD setup, with a claimed range of around 500 kilometres on a single charge.

4. Mahindra Vision S

The Vision S will be the next SUV to join the Scorpio nameplate. The concept version was showcased in August 2025, and it will be based on the NU_IQ platform. The upcoming compact SUV has already been spotted testing in its near-production guise, sporting a boxy and upright stance, appearing quite close to the concept version.

Moreover, the overall dashboard layout and centre console resembled the concept, and we could also spot a panoramic sunroof, analogue instrument cluster and steering wheel similar to the Scorpio N, along with a bunch of physical controls on the centre console. Under the hood, the Vision S will likely be powered by petrol and diesel engines, however, the exact powertrain details are not available as of now.
