Scheduled for a debut on January 5, 2026, the Mahindra XUV7XO will feature a host of tech upgrades over the XUV700
Mahindra & Mahindra is ready to launch the XUV700 facelift in the Indian market, which will be called the XUV7XO. The updated SUV will get a revised exterior design, along with a host of new features. In this article, we will look at the top 10 features that the Mahindra XUV7XO could get over the XUV700.
1. Triple Screen Setup
The triple screen display, which debuted with the all-electric XEV 9e, will now make its way to the XUV7XO. The XEV 9S electric SUV also features the same display. The setup includes three 12.3-inch screens, working as the driver’s instrument cluster, infotainment system and a passenger entertainment display.
2. 16-Speaker Premium Sound System
The XUV7XO will come loaded with a premium 16-speaker Harmon-Kardon sound system, which will be an upgrade from the existing 12-speaker Sony music system. This is the same setup seen on the all-electric XEV 9e, BE6 and XEV 9S.

3. BYOD Tablet Dock
Much like the XEV 9S, the XUV7XO will feature a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) tablet dock with a dedicated Type-C charging port. This will allow the second row passenger to mount their tablets and iPads for entertainment on the go.
4. Powered Co-Driver Seat
The Mahindra XUV7XO is confirmed to get a powered co-driver seat with an electric ‘Boss mode’ function, enabling easy adjustment of the front co-driver seat from the second row, in order to increase the leg room.
5. Powered Tailgate
Mahindra is expected to equip the XUV7XO with an electric tailgate, a feature which is slowly becoming common in premium mass-market SUVs. For reference, its immediate rival, the Tata Safari, already features a powered tailgate.
6. Multi-Colour Ambient Lighting
The XUV7XO will likely come with multi-colour ambient lighting, a feature which is available in the recently launched XEV 9S. It will elevate the overall premium appeal of the cabin.

7&8. Sliding Second Row and Ventilated Rear Seats
The sliding function for second-row seats is not confirmed, however, Mahindra could offer this feature to enhance the overall practicality as well as flexibility of the cabin. In addition to this, the ventilated second row seats seen on the XEV 9S could make their way to the XUV7XO, primarily to enhance the overall comfort for family-oriented customers.
9. AR Head-Up Display
The AR-based head-up display is already available in the BE6, XEV 9S and XEV 9e. This feature could be offered in the XUV7XO, which is capable of making 3D projections for easy navigation.
10. Rear Wireless Phone Charger
The rear wireless charger is available in the XEV 9S, and there are high chances that this feature will be offered in the XUV7XO. It will help to cater for the charging requirements of the second-row passengers, without the hassle of dealing with cables.
