Maruti e-Vitara launched with an aggressive pricing that makes it significantly more affordable than its closest rival – the Hyundai Creta Electric

Maruti Suzuki has announced the prices of the e-Vitara with the cost of the battery pack included. The companys first EV retails at 15.99 lakh rupees (ex-showroom) onwards if purchased conventionally.

The Maruti e-Vitara is available in Delta, Zeta, and Alpha grades, priced at 15.99 lakh rupees (ex-showroom), 17.49 lakh rupees (ex-showroom), and 19.79 lakh rupees (ex-showroom), respectively. The company also offers the Alpha grade in a dual-tone colour scheme, priced at 20.01 lakh rupees (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki is giving a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership option for the e-Vitara. Under this programme, the vehicle costs 10.99 lakh rupees (ex-showroom) in the Delta trim, 11.99 lakh rupees (ex-showroom) in the Zeta trim, and 14.29 lakh rupees (ex-showroom) in the Alpha trim.

The dual-tone paint option in the Alpha grade increases the price to 14.51 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). Customers need to pay a battery subscription fee of 3.99 rupees/km in the Delta trim and 4.39/km in the Zeta and Alpha trims.

The BaaS programme includes a complimentary home charger along with installation. That said, the pricing of the BaaS programme is applicable only for the introductory period. Customers purchasing the e-Vitara at the full price will also get a complimentary home charger along with installation, but only until 31 March.

The Delta grade of the Maruti e-Vitara comes with a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 105.8 kW (142 hp) and 193 Nm of torque and a 49 kWh LFP battery pack. This configuration delivers a range of 440 kilometres. The 49 kWh LFP battery pack takes about 6.5 hours for a 10-100% charging session through a 7.4 kW AC charger and 45 minutes for a 10-80% DC charging session.

The Zeta and Alpha grades upgrade to a higher-output PMSM developing 128 kW (172 hp) and 193 Nm of torque and a larger battery pack with an energy storage capacity of 61 kWh. This setup increases the range to 543 kilometres. The 61 kWh LFP battery pack charges from 10% to 100% level via a 7.4 kW AC charger in 9 hours, but it takes the same 45 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% via a DC charger.
