Maruti Suzuki wrapped up CY 2025 with its highest-ever total sales of 23.51 lakh units which include 3.95 lakh units in exports
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) endured a tremendous calendar year 2025 and closed the final month of the year with total sales of 2,17,854 units. It recorded a notable improvement over 1,78,248 units sold during the same period in 2024. The performance was orchestrated by good domestic demand where the company achieved its highest-ever December sales of 1,92,115 units.
The passenger vehicle sales in the Indian market alone stood at 1,78,646 units – a significant jump from 1,30,117 units in the same month last year. Growth was broad-based with entry-level and compact cars contributing strongly. The Mini segment, comprising Alto and S-Presso, recorded 14,225 units – nearly doubling from 7,418 units in December 2024.
However, their volumes for the April–December period declined year-on-year to 76,044 units. The compact segment continued to be Maruti Suzuki’s volume backbone. Models such as Swift, Baleno, WagonR, Dzire and others collectively delivered 78,704 units in December 2025 compared to 54,906 units last year. For the ongoing financial year, compact cars have contributed 5,97,189 unit sales.

Popular models like Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara and XL6 helped the UV segment post 73,818 units in December – up from 55,651 units a year ago. The cumulative UV sales for FY 2025-26 – April to December period – reached 5,41,266 units. The Eeco van maintained decent momentum with 11,899 units sold during the month while the Super Carry light commercial vehicle posted 3,519 units.
Including LCVs, domestic sales rose to 1,82,165 units, compared to 1,32,523 units in December 2024. Sales to other OEMs also improved – standing at 9,950 units for December 2025 versus 8,306 units last year. However, exports moderated during the month – declining to 25,739 units from 37,419 units – even as cumulative exports for April–December climbed to 3,10,559 units.

Courtesy of this performance, the largest car producer in the country wrapped up CY 2025 with its highest-ever total sales of 23.51 lakh units which include 3.95 lakh exports. In addition to posting its best annual sales tally, the exports also reached a record high for the brand courtesy of Jimny, e Vitara and Baleno. In 2026, MSIL is planning to bring in a host of new models.
