Mahindra XUV 7XO gets an assortment of improvements inside and out compared to the outgoing XUV 700 and here we have mentioned them
With bookings already underway at dealerships and online platforms for Rs. 21,000, Mahindra & Mahindra is set to introduce the XUV 7XO on January 5, 2026. While positioned as the successor in spirit to the XUV700, the upcoming SUV moves towards more modern technology, interior upgrades and an evolved design rather than mechanical changes.
Under the hood, Mahindra is expected to retain familiar hardware. The XUV 7XO will continue with the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engines – paired with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. No performance revisions are expected while the overall proportions and handling characteristics could remain similar as well compared to the outgoing model.
The biggest transformation becomes evident once inside. For the first time in a combustion-powered Mahindra, the XUV 7XO gains the brand’s triple-screen dashboard layout previously reserved for its electric models. A panoramic sunroof, revised air vents, redesigned door pads and a new brown-and-tan interior theme significantly elevate the cabin’s premium appeal judging by the teasers.

A 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with 1,400 W output and Dolby Atmos support headlines the feature list. The setup works alongside Mahindra’s updated Adrenox+ system which now manages infotainment, vehicle intelligence and connectivity in a more integrated manner. The SUV also gets an in-car theatre mode with BYOD functionality – allowing occupants to stream content using their own devices.
Other additions such as Boss Mode seating, improved upholstery and a redesigned centre console further enhance its buying proposition especially in the range-topping AX7L trim. Mahindra has confirmed a new 540-degree camera system, combining multiple camera feeds for expanded visibility. It is paired with a revised ADAS visualisation interface which displays active safety systems in real time – improving ease of use and driver confidence.

Externally, the Mahindra XUV 7XO moves away from the familiar XUV 700 styling with design cues inspired by Mahindra’s newer electric SUVs. Highlights include reworked LED daytime running lamps, projector headlamps, inverted L-shaped rear lighting connected by a full-width light bar, new alloy wheel designs, updated bumpers and a grille featuring vertical chrome accents.
