The all-new second generation Kia Seltos will receive a host of changes inside and out while the powertrain options could remain the same
Kia is pulling the covers off the new-gen Seltos tomorrow and the early glimpses already show how far the design has drifted from the outgoing model. The nose looks more upright than anything seen on the current car – almost borrowing its attitude from the Telluride sold overseas. The grille is chunkier, the bonnet line sits higher and the C-style lighting layout uses vertical beams pushed right to the edges.
It also gets new bumpers, sharper mirrors and a reworked tail lamp unit. The full-width light bar at the rear and the C-cut indicators are impossible to miss and the new panel surfacing around the gate makes it look wider than the outgoing model. Short overhangs, new alloys, roof rails, shark fin and the dual-pane sunroof have been seen in the teasers as well as spy images.
New exterior colours are expected too along with tweaks to overall dimensions. Where things seem to move more drastically is the cabin. Instead of the older dashboard, the new Seltos appears to stretch a single, wider curved layout with softer materials in more places. The infotainment screen and the digital cluster sit under one continuous piece of glass.

The software backing these displays is likely getting refreshed as well with quicker menus and a smoother UI. The leaked GT Line interior image show even more: two-tone finishes, the flat-bottom wheel with integrated toggles, metal pedals, updated AC controls, textured surfaces and stitching that feels a little more deliberate.
Mechanically, Kia isn’t straying far from what works. The familiar set of engines – the 1.5 petrol, the 1.5 turbo petrol and the 1.5 diesel – are all expected to roll forward with both auto and manual options still on the table. Abroad, some versions may get AWD and rumours around a 1.6 hybrid haven’t gone quiet yet.

With competition in the midsize SUV space increasing consistently, Kia’s response has been eagerly awaited with the new Seltos. It will take on Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Victoris, Tata Sierra and Curvv, Honda Elevate, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Citroen Aircross and others.
