Hyundai will bring in as many as 26 new models until FY30 as new ICE, hybrid and electric vehicles are in the pipeline

Hyundai has laid out a new product strategy for the Indian market – mapping out 26 new product launches until the end of this decade. Out of this lineup, 20 models will rely on internal combustion engines while six models will be fully electric. The automaker is looking to capture demand from both traditional buyers and the growing EV audience.

The Korean brand is looking to expand its EV portfolio with new battery-powered models that will be locally manufactured. The company’s electric roadmap is expected to feature domestic as well as global products with SUVs set to form the backbone of the new approach. Alongside this, Hyundai is also focusing on achieving higher localisation levels for its upcoming EVs.

The second largest carmaker in India has also been actively preparing the ground for its future EV expansion by working on strengthening charging infrastructure across major markets. Currently, its India EV lineup includes only the Ioniq 5 and the Creta Electric. Among the upcoming entrants, the Ioniq 9 is expected to join the domestic portfolio as the flagship model just as in the international markets.

Speculation is rife that Hyundai could introduce electric versions of the Venue and i10 in the coming years. The next generation Venue, meanwhile, is expected to debut during this festive season featuring refreshed exterior and interior design along with new features and technologies. Alongside this, Hyundai is also said to be working on a Bayon-based compact SUV.

The company is reportedly considering the introduction of a compact electric SUV based on the Inster EV for India with a potential launch as early as 2026. It could be followed by a mid-cycle update for the Creta Electric around 2027. At the same time, the brand’s ICE lineup will continue to evolve with facelifted versions of popular models like the Grand i10 Nios and i20.

Hyundai is also said to be working on hybrid technology for its mass-market lineup. The next generation Creta and an all-new three-row SUV which will sit between the Alcazar and the Tucson are tipped to debut with hybrid power by 2027. Both models may employ the existing 1.5-litre petrol engine as the base for their hybrid systems.
