Mahindra is pushing to deliver two new premium models aimed at old-school SUV lovers in the next couple of years in India
Mahindra is developing several new ICE and EV models to launch in the next three years with an aim to strengthen its portfolio across multiple segments. Among these, two upcoming products are shaping up to be potential game-changers for the brand, with the capability to redefine their respective categories and significantly boost Mahindra’s market presence.
1. Mahindra Vision.S
The production version of the Mahindra Vision.S is expected to be launched in 2027, and it will likely be a new compact SUV positioned above the Mahindra XUV 3XO. It will have an authentic SUV character with a high ground clearance, a boxy shape, and upright front and rear fascias. Vertically aligned headlamps and tail lamps, squarish windows, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel would further reinforce its SUV credentials.

The Mahindra Vision.S’s production version will feature a contemporary interior with a high emphasis on ergonomics and durability. Pillar-mounted grab handles to assist in ingress and egress and vertical AC vents on the dashboard would align with its tough exterior, while a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, and a large touchscreen infotainment system would offer car-like comfort and convenience.

Based on the NU_IQ monocoque platform, the new compact SUV should offer a spacious interior with ample headroom, shoulder room, and legroom. A commanding seating position would be the key distinguishing element from other sub-4 metre SUVs in this segment, especially Mahindra’s own XUV 3XO. The company will likely launch it with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine and introduce electrified options at a later stage, potentially both hybrid and electric.
2. Mahindra Vision.T
The Mahindra Vision.T concept, as an evolution of the Mahindra Thar.e concept, will likely lead to the brand’s first all-electric off-road SUV in 2028. It should have a shape similar to the Mahindra Thar Roxx, but with a more imposing stance and a distinctive design.

High-clearance bumpers, squarish headlamps and tail lamps, knobby tyres, flared wheel arches, and large, squarish windows, and vertical side mirrors would be some of the key features on the outside. The rugged and outdoorsy feel would continue inside with an upright dashboard with vertical outer-end AC vents and a nature-inspired colour scheme. Interestingly, Mahindra is considering a large portrait touchscreen infotainment system for this model, but still with a bank of buttons for essential controls.

The road-ready version of the Mahindra Vision.T concept will be based on the NU_IQ platform. Mahindra may offer it in single-motor FWD and dual-motor AWD variants, targeting both urban commuters and off-road enthusiasts.
