New Tata Sierra is available in multiple powertrain and gearbox choices; deliveries set to begin on January 15, 2026
Tata Motors has officially opened bookings for the new Sierra in India. Positioned above the Curvv in Tata’s SUV portfolio, the Sierra enters the midsize segment with prices ranging from Rs. 11.49 lakh to Rs. 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers can reserve the SUV starting today by paying a token amount of Rs. 21,000 through authorised dealerships or Tata’s online platforms with deliveries set to commence by the middle of January 2026.
The Sierra is offered in a wide spread of variants giving buyers plenty of choice across price points. Trim levels include Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+. Underneath, the SUV is built on Tata’s new ARGOS architecture which has been developed to support multiple powertrains and advanced safety tech.
While the Sierra carries modern proportions, its design intentionally nods to the original, retaining an upright stance and a large glass area that gives it a distinct road presence. That said, the new Sierra is far from retro. The exterior incorporates sharp LED headlamps, full-width lighting elements and modern detailing like dual-tone alloy wheels.

Engine options are one of the Sierra’s biggest talking points. Buyers can choose between three powertrains including two petrol units and a diesel. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol produces 106 PS and 145 Nm while the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol significantly ups the output to 160 PS and 255 Nm. The diesel option, also a 1.5-litre unit, delivers 120 PS and up to 280 Nm of torque.
Transmission choices vary depending on the engine selected. Options include a six-speed manual, a six-speed torque converter automatic and a dual-clutch automatic gearbox. On the safety front, the Sierra comes equipped with six airbags as standard and features a Level 2 ADAS suite with more than 20 driver assistance functions. Additional equipment includes terrain response modes and a 360-degree camera system.

The cabin also features a premium JBL audio system with a dash-mounted soundbar. Other highlights include a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, a floating centre console, powered tailgate and wireless charging.
