Nissan Gravite will use a familiar 1.0-litre petrol engine in both NA and turbo guises; will feature flexible three-row seating layout

Nissan is stepping up its preparations for the Gravite MPV ahead of its India debut on February 17, 2026. In the latest teaser video, it is seen undergoing road validation across highways and remote stretches while taking on water wading test. Built on the same underpinnings as the Renault Triber, the Gravite is expected to benefit from heavy localisation to keep prices competitive.

From the outside, the Gravite gets a boxy and upright silhouette. That said, Nissan has worked on differentiating it from its French cousin by giving it a sharper face featuring the brand’s signature C-shaped LED lighting elements, a more pronounced grille and slightly chunkier bumper treatment. Roof rails, body cladding and alloy wheels will also be available.

The rear section gets wraparound LED tail lamps, C-shaped bumper treatment and a faux skid plate for a slightly rugged stance. The Gravite features a seven-seat configuration with a flat floor layout. The second row should offer slide and recline functionality while the third row is mainly for children or short trips. Foldable rear seats will allow buyers to switch between passenger and luggage priorities.

Some of the interior highlights are a digital instrument display, a centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control, rear AC vents for all rows, keyless entry, steering wheel with mounted controls, push-button start, cruise control and multiple storage compartments scattered across the cabin, etc while higher trims may also introduce a 360-degree camera, wireless charging and connected car tech.

On the safety front, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist and tyre pressure monitoring are expected to be part of the package. Powering the Nissan Gravite will be a familiar 1.0-litre petrol engine – offered in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms. Transmission options are likely to include a five-speed manual and an AMT.

A factory-fitted CNG option could also be introduced at a later stage. The Nissan Gravite will take on the entry and mid-level variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. It is expected to be priced between Rs. 5.8 lakh and Rs. 8.4 lakh (ex-showroom) and customer deliveries could begin as early as March 2026.
