Yamaha has confirmed a voluntary recall involving 3,06,635 units and targeting the RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid scooters
A precautionary service action has been announced by India Yamaha Motor covering a substantial chunk of its hybrid scooter portfolio in the country. The company has confirmed a voluntary recall involving 3,06,635 units – targeting select 125cc scooters produced over a 16-month window stretching from May 2, 2024 to September 3, 2025.
The recall centres on a front brake component found in certain scooters. Yamaha’s internal assessment revealed that under particular riding circumstances, the front brake caliper may not deliver optimal performance. While the issue is not widespread across all vehicles, the manufacturer has opted for a blanket preventive correction to rule out any safety compromise.
Scooters included in the exercise are the RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid – both of which sit on the same mechanical framework. The Japanese manufacturer has clarified that the identified part will be replaced without any charge and all rectification work will be carried out at authorised Yamaha service facilities nationwide.

Instead of blanket notifications, Yamaha has enabled a chassis number based verification system for owners. Customers can log on to the official India Yamaha Motor website, access the Service tab, move into Maintenance and select Voluntary Recall Campaign. Entering the chassis number under the Scooter 125 category will confirm whether the vehicle falls under the recall and outline the next steps.
Those preferring offline support can walk into any authorised Yamaha showroom while additional assistance is available via the brand’s toll-free helpline or through email. From a technical standpoint, both scooters share Yamaha’s 125cc hybrid powertrain – an air-cooled, fuel-injected, four-stroke unit delivering 8.2 PS at 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

The system integrates a Smart Motor Generator which enables intelligent torque assist during take-off, near-silent engine starts and automatic stop-start functionality to improve fuel efficiency in traffic-heavy conditions. The Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid is shaped around a retro-inspired design language, riding on a 780 mm seat height and weighing 99 kg – making it one of the lightest scooters in its class.
The RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid gets a more aggressive and angular look. It features a slightly taller 785 mm seat and is also available in a Street Rally trim. Common features across both include telescopic front suspension, 21 litres of under-seat storage and Y-Connect Bluetooth connectivity while higher Fascino variants introduce a colour TFT display with navigation support.
