Mahindra begins road trials of the production version of the BE.07 concept just weeks after confirming plans to launch the model in 2027
Mahindra has started testing the production version of the BE.07 concept, which will be the fourth model in its range of ‘Born Electric’ dedicated EVs. The company will position this model above the BE 6 and could introduce it as the BE 7.
The production version of the Mahindra BE.07 will be approximately 4.6 metres long, 1.9 metres wide, and 1.7 metres tall, with an approximately 2.8-metre wheelbase. It will be designed to compete with the Tata Harrier.ev and VinFast VF 7.
The upcoming electric C-segment SUV has a largely conventional SUV shape. An upright front fascia, high ground clearance, a straight beltline, and a nearly straight roofline are key to this authentic look. The main exception is a raked rear windscreen, aimed at lending the vehicle a touch of sportiness and modern styling.

The Mahindra BE.07’s road-ready version features flush-fitted door handles, which will likely come in manual and electrically deploying versions depending on the trim. It has special wheels designed to be mostly closed for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The low- and high-beam headlamps are positioned conventionally at the top and are reminiscent of the BE 6. Vertical DRLs can be seen along the outer edges of the front bumper, positioned around its mid-height.
Inside, we expect Mahindra to equip the BE.07’s production version with three 12.3-inch displays spanning nearly the entire width of the dashboard, AR-HUD, a two-spoke steering wheel with an infinity illuminated brand logo, 65-watt USB Type-C charging ports, a 15-watt, and a cooled wireless smartphone charger.

The company will likely offer an array of premium comfort functions, including front seat ventilation, driver’s seat power adjustment, manual lumbar support, and memory function, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, second-row AC vents, and rear seat recline.
Mahindra may give a choice of two single-motor RWD configurations, one with 170 kW (228 hp) and 380 Nm of torque and one with 210 kW (282 hp) and 380 Nm of torque. It may use a 59 kWh LFP battery pack in the former and a 79 kWh LFP battery pack in the latter. The standard-range variant may cover a distance of around 530 kilometres on a single charge, and the extended-range variant around 650 kilometres.
