Production version of the Mahindra Vision S concept will likely be launched sometime next year in India and it could slot below the Scorpio N
The upcoming compact SUV derived from the Mahindra Vision S concept will be based on an all-new modular monocoque platform and it has been developed to support multiple future models. The road-ready version of the Vision S will more likely arrive sometime next year and for those who cannot wait, here we have shown you the rendered images based on the spy pictures.
The Vision S will be part of a product expansion that also includes a pickup derived from the Scorpio N and additional SUVs planned over the next few years. The renderings comes courtesy of SRK Designs and they follow an upright design theme with squared window outlines, chunky wheel arches, a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and thick rear pillars complemented by a relatively slim rear windscreen.
The overall styling direction hints at cues inspired by larger siblings – mainly the Mahindra Scorpio N. Some of the highlights are round-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights, a prominent grille section with vertical chrome slats and a Twin Peaks logo sitting in the middle, a clamshell-shaped bonnet and busy bumpers.

On the inside, early test prototypes suggest the cabin will be fairly well equipped even in lower trims. Spotted elements include a semi-digital instrument display with a coloured information screen and assist grips for rear passengers. Expected amenities could extend to a wide panoramic sunroof, a centrally mounted infotainment touchscreen, cruise control, adjustable headrests for all occupants, a rear centre armrest and three-point seatbelts.
From a lineup standpoint, the new model is projected to sit between the larger Mahindra Scorpio N and the smaller Mahindra XUV 3XO – effectively filling a gap in the brand’s SUV portfolio. Its footprint indicates it should be easier to handle in congested urban settings than bigger off-road vehicles while still delivering a commanding stance.

Powertrain options for the production version are expected to be shared with the XUV 3XO as both petrol and diesel units could be utilised. Buyers will likely get a choice between manual and automatic gearboxes.
