RE Crosses One Lakh Sales In Feb 2026; Capacity Expansion Underway

Royal Enfield registered total dispatches of 1,00,905 motorcycles in India as well as abroad with 11 per cent rise compared to the same period last year

Royal Enfield, the oldest motorcycle brand in continuous production, stayed put its upward trajectory in the month of February 2026, clocking total dispatches of 1,00,905 motorcycles worldwide. The sales figure shows an 11 per cent rise compared to 90,670 units sold during the same period last year as its 350 cc, 350 cc and 650 cc offerings have been well received.

The domestic market remained the cornerstone of volumes during the month. The local sales reached 91,248 units last month – up 13 per cent from 80,799 units in the corresponding period last year. Overseas shipments stood at 9,657 units – marginally lower than 9,871 units recorded a year ago with a 2 per cent dip for the month.

For the financial year-to-date period spanning April to February, the company delivered 11,26,325 motorcycles globally – registering a healthy 24 per cent improvement over 9,08,879 units in the previous year. The domestic dispatches during this timeframe climbed to 10,06,937 units – up 24 per cent – while exports stretched 27 per cent to 1,19,388 units.

As part of its long-term growth roadmap, the board of Eicher Motors has cleared an investment of Rs. 958 crore to expand manufacturing capacity at the Cheyyar plant in Tamil Nadu. The brownfield project will progressively raise annual production capability to 20 lakh motorcycles from the current 14.6 lakh units over the next 18 months.

The month also saw plenty of brand engagement initiatives. The HunterHood platform made its way to Shillong – celebrating street culture and creative expression inspired by the Hunter 350. In addition, the Desert Cruise Ride 2026 concluded successfully after traversing multiple cities across Rajasthan.

On the global stage, the Royal Enfield Bear 650 secured the Best Naked Bike honour at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2026 in Jakarta. The company further strengthened its international footprint by opening its first exclusive apparel outlet outside India in Russia and continuing new product introductions across key overseas markets.

The Chennai-based manufacturer is preparing to enter the zero-emission space with the arrival of the first model from the Flying Flea series this year while more new electrified motorcycles are also in the works. A new flagship 750 cc range is being developed as well.
