Following the new Triber, Renault’s next two new models in India will be blockbuster launches, competing with the likes of Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Alcazar

As early as H1 2026, Renault will launch the third generation Duster in India. An SUV that popularised now what we know as the Hyundai Creta segment, the Renault Duster has been renowned for its proper SUV character, both in appearance and ruggedness. The CMF-B (Low) platform-based third-gen model is every bit as good as the first-gen model was praised for and also considerably more upscale.

The all-new Duster measures 4,343 mm in length, 1,813 mm in width, and 1,650 mm (incl. roof rails) in height. It has a 2,657 mm wheelbase, and depending on the market and drivetrain layout, it offers a ground clearance of 209-217 mm. Renault equips the Duster with features like LED headlights, front and rear fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless smartphone charger, and an array of advanced driver assistance systems.

At launch, the next-gen Duster will likely be available with 1.0-litre three-cylinder and 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines. A 6-speed manual transmission should be standard, while a CVT will likely be optional. A petrol-electric hybrid variant should follow within a year, possibly with a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine under the hood.

Sometime in late 2026, Renault is expected to launch the Boreal, a new C-segment SUV that the company designed specially for emerging markets like Latin American countries, Turkey, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean Basin. The company has introduced it only as a five-seater, but for India, it is expected to convert it into a three-row model with seven seats.

The five-seat Renault Boreal, so far confirmed to be produced in Brazil and Turkey, measures 4,556 mm in length, 1,841 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height (incl. roof bars). It has a 2,702 mm wheelbase, and it offers 213 mm of ground clearance.

The Renault Boreal is a far more upscale model than the all-new Duster. It features a classier exterior and interior and is equipped with more premium features like 19-inch alloy wheels, front seats with a memory function and a driver-side massage function, a panoramic sunroof, a refrigerated central console, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 48-colour ambient lighting system, and four USB-C ports.

Renault may launch the three-row Boreal in India with the all-new Duster’s 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine as standard. Around a year later, it could introduce a petrol-electric hybrid system. However, whether the Boreal Hybrid borrows the smaller 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine expected in the Duster Hybrid or gets a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine like in Dacia’s similarly sized Bigster remains to be seen.
