First sub-4 metre model since the Fabia pays off, climbing Skoda’s India sales to a new all-time high
Heavily localised and designed specially for India, the Skoda Kylaq is helping the brand reach new highs. The Czech automaker set a new sales record in 2025, which marked its 25th anniversary in the market, and this was mainly due to strong demand for the new sub-4 metre SUV.
Skoda sold 72,665 cars in India last year, marking a stellar 107% Y-o-Y growth from just 35,166 units in 2024. Along with the more accessible Kylaq, an expansion in retail footprint also helped drive growth. The company is now present in 183 cities across India, operating 325 customer touchpoints.
The Kylaq went on sale in India at the end of January 2024. Skoda has not revealed its total sales, but industry data indicate that the company delivered 43,204 units of the Kylaq by November, suggesting that the new model may have closed the year with sales of somewhere between 47,000 and 50,000 units.

Skoda also brought new imported models to India, renewing its focus on affluent customers while also enhancing brand image. The company launched the second-generation Kodiaq’s seven-seat version in April, followed by its five-seat version in September.
Skoda imports knocked-down kits of the all-new Kodiaq from Kvasiny, Czech Republic, and assembles them at a factory in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Maharashtra). Between January and November, Skoda delivered 1,247 units of Kodiaq, including both first- and second-generation models, as per industry data.

In October, Skoda launched the facelifted version of the fourth-generation Octavia RS, targeting driving enthusiasts. The company imports the high-performance liftback sedan as a CBU from Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. It offered only 100 units at launch, all of which were booked before launch. Industry data shows Skoda delivered two units in October and 94 units in November. The company plans to import another batch by March this year.
Skoda’s staple premium cars, the Slavia and Kushaq, are not performing in the market as expected. According to industry data, the company delivered 12,760 units of the former and 9,786 units of the latter between January and November last year. It will roll out a facelift for both cars this year to improve their appeal and competitiveness.
