Besides 7 new nameplates, Tata is planning to introducing as many as 30 new models by the end of this decade in India
Tata Motors is working toward an expansive overhaul of its passenger vehicle portfolio. A combination of new models and updated versions of existing ones is part of the plan. The internal roadmap targets close to 30 launches by the end of this decade. Alongside revised iterations, seven brand new nameplates are being developed.
Between electric and combustion drivetrains, the company is preparing to nearly double the current size of its passenger vehicle lineup. With the Harrier EV’s production underway and the updated Altroz already on sale, the upcoming models will mark the beginning of that next phase of launches. The Sierra moniker will return to Tata’s portfolio within the current financial year.
Unlike the original, this version will be available with both internal combustion and electric powertrains. Tata will bring in the electric version of the Sierra ahead of the internal combustion variant and thus early parts of next FY will see the launch of the Sierra ICE. The company has allocated close to Rs 35,000 crore for the period between FY2026 and FY2030 to introduce new models.

Tata is preparing to introduce a petrol engine option for both the Harrier and Safari by the close of the ongoing financial year. The new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor is expected to generate 168 PS and 280 Nm of torque, offering a long anticipated alternative to the diesel powertrain that has so far dominated the lineup and the gasoline mill will also be available in the forthcoming Sierra.
Meanwhile, internal deliberations are also said to be underway regarding potential hybrid offerings which could join the portfolio at a later stage depending on regulatory direction and market trends. The Tiago and Tigor will reportedly undergo mid-cycle revisions as well. Among the current lineup, the ICE-powered Punch stands out as one of the few models yet to receive a significant update since launch which suggests a facelift may not be far off.
