Hero MotoCorp posted a total of 5,16,968 units during the month – up sharply from 3,57,296 units a year ago with a 44.7 per cent growth
The local dispatches reached 18,71,406 units last month with a 35.2 per cent jump compared to the 13,84,605 units recorded in February 2025. Nearly every major manufacturer reported healthy growth. In other words, demand across commuter motorcycles, scooters and even premium offerings remained firmly on the upswing in the second month of the new CY.
At the top of the list was Hero MotoCorp. The company posted a total of 5,16,968 units during the month – up sharply from 3,57,296 units a year ago with a 44.7 per cent growth. Hero’s market share also climbed to 27.62 per cent – giving it a slight but important edge over its closest competitor with a market share gain of 1.82 per cent on a YoY basis.
Right behind it was Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India with 5,13,217 units. Honda’s sales grew 33.7 per cent year-on-year which is impressive by any measure. Even so, its market share slipped slightly to 27.42 per cent. The gap between the top two brands is extremely small – just a few thousand units – and that keeps the leadership battle interesting every single month.

Next came TVS Motor Company which held on to third position with 3,65,471 units dispatched in February 2026 with a 32.4 per cent increase over last year’s 2,76,072 units. While its market share eased a bit to 19.53 per cent, TVS still sits comfortably ahead of the rest of the field. The top three, apparently, remain in a league of their own.
The fourth place went to Bajaj Auto with 1,86,164 units. The Pune-based manufacturer posted 27.4 per cent growth – rising from 1,46,138 units last year. However, its market share dipped slightly from 10.55 per cent to 9.95 per cent. Further down the table, Suzuki Motorcycle India crossed the one-lakh mark – reporting 1,01,071 units in February.

Then there’s Yamaha Motor India which recorded 67,072 units with a 32.9 per cent improvement year-on-year.
One of the biggest percentage gains came from electric scooter maker Ather Energy. Its volumes jumped to 26,467 units with a 96.3 per cent growth. Smaller players like Piaggio, Kawasaki and Triumph rounded out the top ten operating in more niche corners of the market.
