In the list of top 10 EV brands in Feb 2026, Tata Motors finished ahead of MG, Mahindra, VinFast and others
The zero-emission PV segment registered a total of 13,669 units last month. Compared with 9,479 units in February 2025, the market expanded by 44 per cent on a year on year basis thanks to the arrival of new products and increasing customer interest with deeper product penetration across multiple categories.
Tata Motors once again secured the top position in monthly sales in February 2026. The company recorded 5,558 electric car registrations – up from 4,002 units in the same month last year which resulted in a 39 per cent annual increase. The Nexon EV and Punch EV continued to lead the way for the homegrown manufacturer and recently, the latter received a mid-cycle update.
Holding second place, MG Motor India reported 3,310 units for the month. Although the brand maintained a strong overall standing, volumes were slightly lower than the 3,489 units achieved in February 2025 with a 5 per cent decline. Even with this marginal contraction, MG remains one of the largest contributors to total EV volumes due to the good reception for the Windsor EV.

Newer entrant VinFast registered 384 units during the month – establishing its early footprint in the market thanks to the VF6 and VF7.
