In the table of top 10 midsize SUVs in Jan 2026, Hyundai Creta moved up to first ahead of Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Mahindra XUV 7XO
The midsize SUV segment witnessed intense competition in the first month of the new CY with established leaders holding ground while newer entrants reshaped the rankings. Hyundai Creta retained the top position despite a marginal dip in volumes. The Creta recorded 17,921 units last month compared to 18,522 units in January 2025 with a 3 per cent year-on-year decline but still enough to lead the segment.
The Mahindra Scorpio secured second place with 15,542 units registering a near-flat per cent YoY growth over 15,442 units sold a year earlier. The recently introduced Maruti Suzuki Victoris continued its strong run – finishing third with 15,240 units in January 2026.
Its ability to immediately climb into the top three shows the customer acceptance as its volumes have gone past the 50,000 market in just under 5 months since launch. The Kia Seltos which received a new generation recently delivered one of the most impressive growth performances in the segment.
