Hyundai Creta headed the top 10 midsize SUV sales table in October 2025 as it finished ahead of Mahindra Scorpio range, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Toyota Hyryder
The midsize SUV segment in India continues to be the most hotly contested and October 2025 numbers once again prove how significant this space has become. Despite newer entrants and constant competition, a few familiar names continue to dominate. The Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Scorpio and Maruti Suzuki Victoris led the way followed by impressive showings from Toyota, Mahindra and Tata.
The Hyundai Creta continues to hold its title as the benchmark in this category. With 18,381 units sold in October 2025, it registered a 5 per cent increase compared to the same month last year. Just behind it, the Mahindra Scorpio maintained its strong momentum with 18,107 units – enduring a healthy 14 per cent year-on-year rise.
The Scorpio’s enduring popularity lies in its build and commanding presence. With both the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N available, Mahindra’s twin strategy is clearly paying off. A major surprise this month came from the Maruti Suzuki Victoris which made an immediate impact with 13,496 units sold in its full debut month.

The stellar start shows how quickly Maruti’s newest midsize SUV has struck a chord with Indian families and in a short span of time, the Victoris garnered over 25,000 bookings in India. It is available with petrol and hybrid powertrains and is high of safety as well scoring five starts in both GNCAP and Bharat NCAP crash tests.
The Toyota Hyryder also continued its strong run with 11,555 units sold – posting a remarkable 112 per cent jump over last year. Its strong hybrid technology is clearly resonating with buyers seeking efficiency without compromising usability. The Grand Vitara, its sibling from Maruti Suzuki, on the other hand, saw a slowdown with 10,409 units – down by 26 per cent.

The Kia Seltos followed with 7,130 units – recording a 12 per cent rise year-on-year. The second generation Seltos is waiting to make its global debut next month.
Tata Motors rounded out the top 10 with two good performers – the Harrier and Safari ahead of Honda Elevate. The Harrier saw a massive 130 per cent jump with 4,483 units while the Safari posted a 20 per cent rise at 2,510 units. The Elevate endured a 2 per cent YoY surge.
