In the list of top 10 most sold cars in CY2025, Maruti Suzuki Dzire finished first ahead of Hyundai Creta, Tata Nexon and WagonR in India
The PV market witnessed a notable reshuffle at the top in calendar year 2025. While Maruti Suzuki continued to dominate in volume terms, models from Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra also made a strong impact. Claiming the top spot in CY2025 was the Maruti Suzuki Dzire recording sales of 214,488 units – a significant jump of 46,500 units over 2024.
The numbers translated into a healthy 28 per cent growth allowing the compact sedan to leap from eighth position in 2024 straight to number one following the arrival of the new generation just over a year ago. Appreciable demand for petrol and CNG variants with the latter accounting for 56 per cent of total sales played a key role in the Dzire’s rise.
The Hyundai Creta secured second place with 201,122 units – registering 8 per cent growth year-on-year. The midsize SUV continued to benefit from its wide range comprising petrol, diesel and electric options and climbed three ranks compared to 2024. Close behind was the Tata Nexon which delivered one of the strongest tallies of the CY.
