The SUV segment will witness a flurry of action over the next 12 months as brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, Kia, Renault and Nissan are all pumped to bring in new models and here we have brought you a rundown:

1, 2&3. Tata Sierra EV, new Punch EV & Avinya:

Tata Motors is lining up an aggressive electric vehicle push as the next phase begins in CY26 with the arrival of the Sierra EV and an all-new Punch EV followed later in the same year by the debut of the Avinya range positioned as a premium and luxury-focused electric offering. The momentum will continue through to FY30 by which time Tata intends to introduce five entirely new EV nameplates including Sierra and Avinya – supported by frequent updates and refresh cycles across existing models.

The Sierra EV will be available with two battery options and the claimed range could be over 500 km between charges. The Punch EV will receive a notable update inside and out while improvements to driving range are also expected. The Avinya, on the other hand, will be based on JLR’s EMA architecture and it will sit at the top of the range.

4&5. New Renault Duster & Nissan Tekton:

Renault confirmed recently that the new-gen Duster will make its India debut on January 26, 2026. Built on a heavily localised CMF-B platform, the upcoming Duster is expected to be offered with a pair of petrol powertrain options at launch. The India-spec model will remain largely in line with its global counterpart when it comes to design and interior bits while its closely related Nissan derivative, the Tekton, is slated to arrive in Feb.

6. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

Maruti Suzuki is set to step into the all-electric passenger vehicle segment with the launch of the e Vitara next month. Underpinned by the dedicated Heartect-e architecture, the electric SUV has already secured a full five-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash testing. Buyers will be able to choose between two battery options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh – with the larger pack offering an ARAI-certified range of up to 543 km on a single charge.

7&8. Mahindra XUV 7XO & Vision S:

Mahindra is gearing up to bring in the refreshed XUV700 next month under a new nameplate, XUV 7XO, with advance bookings already live nationwide. The rebranded SUV introduces noticeable exterior updates while the cabin receives a new triple-display setup and several technologies borrowed from the recently launched XEV 9S. The production version of the Vision S concept could be introduced before end-2026 as a more compact iteration of the Scorpio N as well.

9&10. Hyundai Compact EV & New Kia Seltos:

 

Hyundai’s first heavily localised compact SUV will hit showrooms in 2026 and it could be based on the Inster sold in global markets. Already unveiled, the new-gen Kia Seltos’ prices will be announced officially on January 2, 2026 and the brand will also introduce the Sorento Hybrid next CY.
