Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV, based on the same platform as the soon-arriving Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, is expected to go on sale in 2026
Placed beneath the bZ4X, the Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV went on sale in Indonesia recently for an OTR Jakarta price tag of IDR 759 million (Rs. 40.78 lakh approximately) and it is brought in via completely built-up route. The five-seater will be produced locally for India and is expected to be introduced sometime next year.
The midsize SUV made its global debut at Brussels a while ago and will come equipped with a 49 kWh and 61.1 kWh battery packs as in several international markets. The electric motor generates 172 hp and 192 Nm, and like its bigger sibling bZ4X, it will feature Toyota’s T Intouch connected suite. The connectivity package lets users remotely monitor key stats, access vehicle information and interact with the car through the app.
Upon arrival, it will become Toyota’s first all-electric vehicle for the domestic market and was displayed earlier this year at BMGE 2025 in Delhi. Sharing the same Heartect e architecture used by the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, the Urban Cruiser BEV has several components and systems in common with its Maruti counterpart.

Both will be manufactured at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant continuing the alliance driven strategy. With the e Vitara scheduled to go on sale next month, Toyota is expected to bring the Urban Cruiser BEV to Indian showrooms sometime in the first half of 2026. Once launched, it will enter the rapidly heating midsize electric SUV category where competitive pricing and range will be crucial.
It will take on Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Harrier EV, Curvv EV, Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6, MG ZS EV, etc. The e-SUV measures 4285 mm length, 1800 mm width, 1640 mm height, and has a 2700 mm wheelbase.

The equipment list of the Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV will comprise a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a digital instrument console, panoramic sunroof, six airbags, a flat-bottom steering wheel, front ventilated seats, automatic climate control, Level 2 ADAS suite and much more.
