Triumph Tracker 400 is slightly more powerful than the Speed 400 and it gets a brand new bodywork and a revised tank design
Triumph has pulled the covers off the Tracker 400 – a motorcycle that looks straight out of a dirt oval but is very much built for the road. Slated for a global rollout in early 2026, the Tracker 400 is expected to make its way to India later that year slotting into Triumph’s growing 400cc lineup. Unlike the Speed or Scrambler, the Tracker 400 plays a different card altogether as it boasts flat-track aesthetics with a stripped-back aggressive stance.
At its core, the Tracker 400 uses the familiar 398 cc TR-Series single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, shared with other Triumph 400s. It produces 42 PS at 9,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm with a strong spread of torque available low down in the rev range. The powertrain is coupled with a six-speed gearbox while a slip-and-assist clutch comes as standard.
A tubular steel frame is paired with a cast aluminium swingarm while suspension duties are handled by 43 mm upside-down forks at the front and a gas-charged monoshock with an external reservoir at the rear. Braking comes via disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS and the Tracker rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli MT60 RS tyres.

Ergonomically, the Tracker 400 is a certain departure from its siblings. The wide and flat handlebar sits lower and further forward while the footpegs are pushed back and raised – resulting in a more engaged riding posture that encourages elbows-out riding especially through corners. Despite the aggressive stance, the seat height of 805 mm keeps it accessible for most riders.
The boxy fuel tank, flat seat with a colour-matched cowl, side number boards and twin upswept exhausts give it a purpose-built look. A round LED headlamp and minimalist bodywork keep things uncluttered as well while the fuel tank design has been revised. Buyers get ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, dual-channel ABS, a USB-C charging port and an analogue speedometer integrated with a compact LCD screen.

Globally, the Tracker 400 will be offered in Aluminium Silver with red accents, Racing Yellow with black elements and a darker Phantom Black scheme. Considering the growing popularity of the flat track scene in India, the British manufacturer could consider launching the Tracker 400 locally where it is built for international markets.
