Under this new BaaS scheme, the Ultraviolette X-47 is now available at a starting price of Rs. 1.49 lakh; battery subscription is backed by a five-year warranty

Registrations are now open across India for a newly introduced ownership program that changes how customers can purchase the Ultraviolette X-47 crossover. Announced today, the initiative allows riders to separate the motorcycle’s chassis cost from its battery pack – lowering the upfront investment required.

Under this new scheme, the X-47 is now available at a starting price of Rs. 1.49 lakh. Instead of paying the full amount including the battery at the time of purchase, customers can subscribe to the battery through a monthly plan beginning at Rs. 2,499. It reduces the initial financial outlay by nearly 40 per cent compared to the earlier pricing format.

The battery subscription is backed by a five-year warranty – offering assurance on durability as well as performance. Once the subscription tenure concludes, ownership of the battery will be transferred to the customer without any extra payment. To facilitate the programme, Ultraviolette has partnered with Ecofy – a financing company dedicated to environmentally focused lending.

The collaboration looks to streamline access to electrification by offering well laid out and sustainability-driven financial solutions. From a cost-of-ownership perspective, the company highlights that the fixed monthly fee of Rs. 2,499 may compare favourably with the average fuel expenses of similarly performing petrol-powered motorcycles.

Through the introduction of predictable recurring payments, Ultraviolette seeks to make high-performance electric riding more financially approachable. The alternative purchase model shows a new strategy that expands access to premium electric two-wheelers as decoupling the battery cost and spreading it over time could help bring in more buyers.

Commenting on the new BaaS scheme, Narayan Subramaniam, CEO & Co-founder at Ultraviolette, said “At ₹2.5 lakh, Ultraviolette was at price parity with similarly powered ICE motorcycles. Now, with a starting price of ₹1.5 lakh, riders gain access to better technology, features, and performance that outpaces every segment. With operating costs as low as ₹2499 per month, which is lesser than the average spends on petrol, we are redefining what affordability means in motorcycling.”
