Updated Citroen Aircross is expected to go on sale in the coming months with new features and minor cosmetic changes in India

The test mule’s minimal camouflage indicates that the exterior updates won’t be too distinctive. Inside, the Citroen Aircross will replace its light coloured upholstery with a brown finish. Expected features include ventilated front seats, automatic climate control and a host of other equipment and technologies to be part of the package.

Staying true to Citroën’s usual approach, the upcoming Aircross facelift is expected to carry an aggressive price tag thanks to extensive localisation. Powertrain choices will include a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.2L turbo petrol engine. The former pushes out 110 PS while the latter is good enough to produce 82 PS max power.

Equipment will range from a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and fully digital instrument cluster as well as 40 connectivity features to new additions like a 360-degree camera system. It will continue to offer 511 litres of boot volume with the third-row seats removed.

Last festive season, Citroen introduced the updated Aircross gained six airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors, LED projector headlights, automatic climate control, power window switches on the doors, TPMS, ESP, electrically foldable wing mirrors and so on.

Under its “Citroën 2.0 – Shift Into the New” strategy, Citroën India looks to strengthen local engagement, widen market reach and boost product desirability. Building on the Rs. 5,300 crore already invested in R&D, localisation and manufacturing, the brand has confirmed to be channeling more funds into both ICE and electric vehicle platforms.
