VinFast third model in India could be a seven-seat MPV positioned above the VF 7, assembled locally from completely knocked-down kits

Following the VF 6 and VF 7 in July, the next VinFast launch in India could be the Limo Green. The company has started testing the pure electric MPV on Indian roads to assess its viability for our market.

The VinFast Limo Green is a much bigger MPV than the Maruti Ertiga/XL6 and Kia Carens Clavis EV and belongs to a higher segment. At 4,740 mm long, 1,872 mm wide, and 1,723 mm tall, it is closer to the Toyota Innova Hycross. The electric MPV has a 2,840 mm wheelbase and offers 170 mm of ground clearance, but VinFast will likely increase the latter for India due to poor road conditions.

VinFast sells the Limo Green only as a commercial vehicle, and that, too, only in Vietnam. However, the company had indicated that it would consider releasing it for individual customers in the future, and now, it could be going ahead with that plan. Indonesia, given its huge demand for MPVs, is also a potential market for this model.

In its only existing, commercial version, the Limo Green is quite basic in terms of specifications and features. VinFast offers it with a 60.13 kWh LFP battery and a front-mounted motor that produces 201 hp and 280 Nm of torque. The battery pack supports charging at up to 80 kW and takes 30 minutes for a 10-70% charging session. It delivers a range of 450 km, but as per the old NEDC, not the more realistic WLTP.

VinFast equips the Limo Green with features like 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an automatic climate control system, two USB Type-C and two USB Type-A charging ports, and a four-speaker sound system.

On the safety front, the company offers four airbags, a reverse camera, ABS with EBD and BA, ESC, TCS, HSA, and Roll Over Mitigation (ROM). The private registration version will likely come with additional and more advanced comfort, connectivity, and safety features.

In addition to the Toyota Innova Crysta, the VinFast Limo Green could compete with the BYD eMAX 7, which, unlike the former, is a pure electric MPV. However, we expect it to be significantly cheaper than the latter, though, costing around 22 lakh (ex-showroom).
