Volkswagen India has announced the commencement of local assembly of the Tayron R-Line at its Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. With production now underway, the Tayron R-Line is on track for its official market debut in the first quarter of 2026 and it has already been revealed via images along with some key information.

As the most premium SUV in Volkswagen India’s portfolio, the seven-seater Tayron R-Line will be packed with features. Introduced internationally around a year ago, the model’s arrival shows the German brand’s global-first approach bringing overseas products to the local market with minimal delay buoyed by the good reception for the Golf GTI and Tiguan R Line lately.

As for the design, the Tayron R-Line comes with a muscular stance, clean body surfacing and distinctive illuminated light signatures at both ends. The sporty R-Line package adds flair through unique styling elements and large 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels. The SUV has already secured a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and was awarded the Golden Steering Wheel 2025 for Best Family Car in Europe.

The comfort factor is further enhanced by ergoActive Plus front seats upholstered in Varenna leather offering active ventilation and a 10-point pressure massage function.

With the third row folded, boot space extends up to 850 litres while even with all rows in use, it still offers a usable 345 litres. A panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a comprehensive ADAS suite are also expected to be part of the package.
