Volkswagen is offering benefits of up to Rs. 1.26 lakh for the MY 2025 stock while the latest versions of Taigun and Virtus see price revisions across the range

Volkswagen dealerships across India are offering heavy discounts on the Taigun SUV and Virtus sedan in the first month of the new year even as the brand has revised prices for their latest iterations. The benefits are applicable only on MY 2025 stock and depending on the variant, total savings can climb as high as Rs 1.26 lakh.

The Taigun midsize SUV sees its biggest benefits concentrated on the lower trims. The entry-level Comfortline manual attracts discounts of up to Rs 1.04 lakh – making it the most aggressively priced variant this month. Among automatic versions, the Highline Plus AT gets benefits of up to Rs 1 lakh while the GT Line AT is available with discounts of up to Rs 80,000.

The top-spec Taigun variants powered by the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine are treated differently. The GT Plus Chrome DSG and GT Plus Sport DSG are available only with an exchange bonus of up to Rs 50,000 with no direct cash discounts on offer. The Virtus sedan mirrors this discount strategy but offers even better savings at the base level.

The Comfortline manual variant receives benefits of up to Rs 1.26 lakh in India for MY 2025 stock. The Highline Plus AT follows with discounts of up to Rs 1 lakh while the GT Line AT gets benefits of up to Rs 80,000. The high-spec Virtus variants with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and DSG gearbox combination are limited to exchange bonuses of up to Rs 30,000.

Alongside these discounts, Volkswagen has revised prices for both models as 2026 begins. For the Taigun, all variants except the base Comfortline manual have seen a uniform price increase of Rs 4,000. Interestingly, the Comfortline MT is now priced lower than before at Rs 10.58 lakh – effectively offsetting the price hike elsewhere in the range.

The Taigun now costs between Rs 10.58 lakh and Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The Virtus has seen price adjustments across most variants. While the base Comfortline MT is now cheaper by Rs 66,000 at Rs 10.50 lakh, several mid-spec variants have become significantly more expensive. The Highline AT and GT Line MT see the highest hike of Rs 51,000 while dual-clutch automatic variants are costlier by up to Rs 31,000.

Prices for the Virtus now range between Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom). It must be noted that mid-life updates for both models are currently under development. The facelifted VW Taigun is expected to arrive first in the coming months.
