Yamaha has added a hybrid powertrain to the 2025 FZ-X lineup in India following the launch of the same technology in the FZ-S a while ago. The updated motorcycle gets an improved feature list too comprising smartphone integration and a new colour TFT cluster. The 2025 Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid is priced at Rs 1,49,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi) with the standard non-hybrid version continuing at Rs 1,29,990.

The hybrid variant is being offered in a Matte Titan finish while the standard trim remains available in Dark Matte Blue and Metallic Black. The main part of the update is Yamaha’s Smart Motor Generator (SMG) system – working in tandem with stop and start tech for improved fuel efficiency. The combination supports battery-assisted acceleration and shuts the engine off at idle – restarting swiftly with the clutch engaged.

It helps reduce noise during start up as well. To complement the mechanical upgrade, the instrument console has been replaced by a new 4.2-inch full-colour TFT screen. The display is Bluetooth-enabled and links to Yamaha’s Y-Connect app, offering call and SMS alerts, phone battery status and more. Turn-by-turn navigation, powered by Google Maps, enables real time directional data, intersection details and road names directly onto the screen.
