KTM RC 160 is equipped with familiar 164.2 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine shared with the 160 Duke producing 18.73 bhp and 15.5 Nm
KTM has added a new entry point to its fully-faired motorcycle lineup in India with the launch of the RC 160. Priced at Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the motorcycle slots in below the RC 200 and RC 390 expanding KTM’s reach in the entry-level sportbike space. Being the smallest RC on sale, it carries a Rs. 6,000 premium over the top-spec 160 Duke with the TFT display.
On the outside, the KTM RC 160 looks every bit like a full-fledged supersport. KTM has carried over the aggressive fairing design, sharp lines and track-inspired proportions from its larger RC siblings. The clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs and sculpted metal fuel tank complement its sporty intent and give it a big-bike character.
The motorcycle is built around the same trellis frame architecture as the 160 Duke. Suspension duties are handled by 37 mm upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock while braking hardware includes a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc. The setup is supported by dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode.

The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with a 110-section front and 140-section rear tyre combination. Power comes from KTM’s familiar 164.2 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which is shared with the 160 Duke. The motor produces 18.73 bhp maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of peak torque delivered at 7,500 rpm.
The powertrain is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring an assist-and-slipper clutch. KTM claims a top speed of 118 kmph, positioning the RC 160 as a performance-oriented option among entry-level sport offerings. In terms of features, the RC 160 keeps things relatively straightforward. It comes equipped with all-LED lighting and an LCD instrument cluster – unlike the 160 Duke which recently received a TFT screen.

One notable limitation at launch is colour choice. The RC 160 is currently available in just one paint scheme – black with white and orange graphics – the same combination seen in leaked images earlier. KTM is expected to expand the colour palette at a later stage. In the Indian market, the RC 160 goes up directly against the Yamaha R15 V4 which is priced between Rs. 1.67 lakh and Rs. 1.92 lakh (ex-showroom).
