Kia Carens Clavis EV boasts a claimed driving range of up to 490 km per charge in its Extended Range variant

Kia India has today revealed the prices for its first made-in-India electric vehicle, the Carens Clavis EV. Carrying a starting price of Rs. 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Carens Clavis EV becomes the first midsize electric MPV offering in the domestic market as well and its bookings will open on July 22. Based on the recently updated Carens Clavis internal combustion model, the electric version retains much of the same overall styling but introduces EV-specific touches.

Up front, the Kia Carens Clavis EV sports a full-width LED light bar that runs across the fascia, joined on either side by a distinctive tri-pod LED headlight unit. A neatly integrated charging port is also located on the nose, further distinguishing it from its ICE counterpart. Other visible changes comprise a set of new dual-tone alloy wheels and fog lamps positioned above the front skid plate.

On the inside, it comes with the familiar two-spoke multifunction steering wheel and twin digital screens – one serving as the instrument cluster and the other as the infotainment unit. The centre console sits higher than before while the rear passengers benefit from roof-mounted AC vents. The equipment list comprises automatic climate control, six airbags as standard, wireless charger, ambient lighting, ADAS and more.
