The fourth-gen Hyundai Creta is expected to see a major shake up in design and interior and it could be equipped with a hybrid powertrain
The bestselling midsize SUV in India, Hyundai Creta, is already being prepped for its next big upgrade and new renderings of the upcoming generation a glimpse into how the model could evolve by the time it reaches showrooms in 2027. Internally known as the SX3, the all-new Creta is expected to go far beyond a cosmetic refresh pairing a thoroughly reworked design with a host of mechanical changes.
From a styling perspective, the illustrated Creta takes a step towards a sportier stance. The front end looks noticeably squarer than the current model with new LED lighting elements. Pixel-like lighting elements are embedded within a strip while the main headlamps are pushed lower into vertically stacked housings on the bumper.
The split headlamp arrangement stays in line with Hyundai’s latest global SUVs. A flatter bonnet, sharper shoulder lines and a chunkier bumper further enhance its visual presence. Viewed from the side, the next-gen Creta appears more structured and the slightly more upright glasshouse in the rendering suggests better overall cabin space.

Large alloy wheels with new detailing dominate the profile in these renders while black body cladding along the lower sections combined with roof rails and a subtly tapering roofline are some of the other highlights. The rear design echoes the modern theme seen up front with slim LED tail lamps and a busier bumper with more prominent exhaust pipes.
The next generation Creta is expected to bring notable upgrades under the skin. While the current model received a major update in early 2024 and continues to lead its segment with petrol, diesel and turbo petrol options, Hyundai is widely believed to be evaluating a strong hybrid setup for the new iteration. It could combine a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a large battery.

Production of the new Creta is likely to continue at Hyundai’s Tamil Nadu facility which plays a key role in the brand’s Indian operations. The SUV could feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, a redesigned digital instrument cluster, over-the-air update capability, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control and Level 2 ADAS. Hyundai is also rumoured to be developing a new three-row premium SUV positioned above the Alcazar.
