Skoda Kushaq facelift will receive cosmetic updates and feature additions while the familiar 1.0L and 1.5L turbo petrol engines could be retained

Since the arrival of the Kushaq and Slavia, Skoda India’s volume numbers have certainly gone up. The midsize SUV has been available in the domestic market for just over four years and it will get a mid-life makeover soon. Test mules of the facelifted Kushaq have been caught on camera for quite sometime now and the production model is expected to launch before the end of this year or in early 2026.

The five-seater will continue to sit on the MQB A0 IN platform carrying high local content. However, it will get notable cosmetic changes and revisions inside the cabin. The latest spy pictures further reiterate the change it will undergo. The prototype wore camouflage at the front and rear – indicating that the key updates will be restricted to those areas.

Spotted running trials on Mumbai-Pune Expressway in wet conditions, the side profile showed the same body panels seen on the existing model. However, the front fascia will be subjected to minor updates as changes to the grille section and headlamps are likely but do not expect any radical revisions. It rain on 17-inch black finished alloy wheels.

Compared to the existing model, the Kushaq facelift will gain sequential turn indicators alongside modifications to the bumper at the front and rear. The cabin will receive several changes including more premium surface trims and materials and possibly a redesigned dashboard and centre console. On the features front, it will get a suite of Level 2 ADAS systems.

It may as well feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, all-digital instrumentation, automatic climate control, front ventilated seats, wireless smartphone charging facility, in-car connected tech, six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera system and more.

As for the performance, the familiar 1.0L three-cylinder turbo petrol and the 1.5L four-cylinder turbo petrol engines will be retained. The former produces a maximum power output of 115 PS and 178 Nm while the latter kicks out 150 PS and 250 Nm. A six-speed manual, a six-speed torque converter AT and a seven-speed DCT will likely be carried over.

The Skoda Kushaq facelift will continue to rival Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Mahindra Scorpio N, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, VW Taigun, Honda Elevate, etc in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment.
