Tata finished fourth in the overall manufacturers’ sales standings in June 2025 with 37,083 units as against 43,527 units with a YoY decline of close to 15 per cent
Tata Motors recorded a domestic total of 37,083 passenger vehicle dispatches in June 2025 with a year-on-year decline of close to 15 per cent when compared to the 43,527 units sold during the same month last year. The month-on-month drop, measured against May 2025’s tally of 41,557 units, stood at 11 per cent.
The brand finished fourth in the overall manufacturers’ sales standings with a market share drop of 1.2 per cent. The Nexon continued as Tata’s best-selling nameplate, closing June with 11,602 units – down 4 per cent year-on-year and 11 per cent lower than the previous month. The Punch, which had seen consistently high volumes last year, recorded 10,446 units – a sharp drop of 43 per cent on a year-on-year basis and 20 per cent lower month-on-month.
The Tiago hatchback managed to improve on its numbers – registering a 17 per cent year-on-year rise with 6,032 units sold last month. However, sales dipped slightly compared to May. Meanwhile, the Altroz saw a modest 1 per cent annual improvement but posted strong growth over the previous month, courtesy of the arrival of the facelift recently.

In contrast, the Tigor compact sedan experienced pressure on both fronts. With only 788 units dispatched in June, it marked a 43 per cent annual drop and a 27 per cent decline over May. The Safari SUV followed a similar trend, declining by 34 per cent year-on-year and 17 per cent month-on-month with 922 units sold.
The Tata Curvv posted 2,060 units last month. However, this was lower than May’s figures, indicating a 33 per cent month-on-month dip. The Harrier midsize SUV showed resilience, climbing 41 per cent over May and settling at 1,259 units – although its year-on-year tally still slipped by 7 per cent.

While high volume staples like the Nexon held ground, sharp drops for the Punch and Tigor weighed on overall numbers. Tata will bring back the Sierra nameplate next in ICE and electric guises as part of 30 new launches planned till the end of 2030.
